How You Can Contribute to the Grand, Spectacular 40th Anniversary Celebration Darryl McCall: "The organizing committee wishes to honor the department’s first faculty member by naming the newly-refurbished chemical engineering laboratory for him and by establishing an endowment to sustain the new Robert G. Rinker Laboratory forever at the cutting edge. Income from the endowment’s investments (approx. 5% per year) can provide annual replacement and rehabilitation of one or more experiments. In this way we can recognize Bob’s long-term commitment to teaching and his role in the department’s academic achievements.
On this occasion, the committee also wishes to engage the alumni in the department’s future by building a long-term foundation for alumni and alumni gift giving programs."

Some of our ChE students may somehow have missed out on the “Rinker experience:” of challenging homework problems, of ten impossible problems on every exam, of listening to how hard it was to be a student at Rose Poly and Caltech, of discovering what it was like to serve in the Army Corps of Engineers in Korea, etc.
Find out what else you missed!
Some alums may not know much about endowments. Check out what an endowment is and how it operates.
Finally, many alums may wish to contribute to the RGR Endowment, but do not know how.
Contact the department’s development officer, Dan Oh, to obtain more information about how you can make a contribution to the Rinker Laboratory Endowment. |
